Two UMS Public Health Lecturers Receive 2026 Research and Community Service Funding from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology

SURAKARTA – Lecturers in the Public Health (Kesmas) Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved a proud achievement. Two UMS Public Health lecturers have successfully secured funding under the 2026 Research and Community Service Funding Program from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).

The first lecturer to receive funding is Izzatul Arifah, S.K.M., M.P.H., under the Applied Research – Model Output scheme, with the research title “Development of a Triadic Integration Model (Pregnant Women–Husbands–Health Workers) for ANECMA Interventions in Preventing the Risk of Anemia in Pregnancy in Primary Health Care.”

The research focuses on developing an intervention model involving three main components: pregnant women, husbands, and health workers, in efforts to prevent anemia during pregnancy. Through this integrative approach, research is expected to produce an effective model to support maternal health improvement and reduce the risk of pregnancy complications due to anemia.

Meanwhile, Salsabila Purnamasari, S.K.M., M.P.H., received funding under the Community Empowerment scheme, with a program titled “Implementation of Environmentally Friendly Technology and Occupational Health and Safety through Empowerment of the Joint Business Group (KUB) of the Kranggan Makmur Tofu Industry, Kartasura, Sukoharjo.”

This community service program aims to increase the capacity of tofu industry entrepreneurs through the application of more environmentally friendly technology and strengthening Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) aspects. This program is expected to increase business productivity while creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable work environment.

The success of these two lecturers demonstrates the commitment of the UMS Public Health Study Program to developing research and community service programs oriented towards solving public health problems and empowering communities based on science and technology.

The UMS Public Health Study Program expressed its appreciation for this achievement and hopes that the research and community service outcomes will provide tangible benefits to the community, strengthen academics’ contributions to health development, and support the achievement of Indonesia’s sustainable development goals.

The funding obtained also demonstrates that UMS Public Health lecturers continue to actively produce innovations and work relevant to community needs, both in the areas of maternal and child health and empowering the business sector based on occupational health and safety.
