Surakarta, July 28, 2025 — Students from the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved international success. A cross-study team involving students from Public Health, Accounting, and Informatics Engineering won a Gold Medal and a Special Award: Best Presentation at the prestigious Global Youth Innovators Competition (GYIC) 2025.

Their innovation, titled “Nutri-Flour W2W,” is a brilliant idea that transforms food waste into nutritious food as an effort to prevent stunting in children. Through the waste-to-worth concept, the team demonstrates that solutions to nutritional problems can arise from creativity and environmental awareness.

The team consists of Arief Surya Adhi (Accounting), Dizzo Violeta (Informatics Engineering), and Salsabila Khoirun Nisa (Public Health), with the guidance of Windi Wulandari, SKM., M.P.H. as their supervisor.

This success demonstrates the UMS students’ commitment to continuous innovation and contribution to global public health issues through a multidisciplinary approach. The Nutri-Flour W2W innovation is not only academically valuable but also has the potential for real-world applications in improving food security and child health in various regions.

This achievement is expected to inspire Indonesia’s younger generation to continue creating works that have a positive impact on society and the world.
