Surakarta, June 12, 2025 — Students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved brilliant achievements in the international arena. The student team won the Silver Medal in the prestigious WSEEC 2025 (World Science, Environment and Engineering Competition) held in June 2025.

This achievement was achieved by four inspiring students: Aulya Rahma Santi, Ilma Khoirunissa, Sa’adah Luthfia Fatimah, and Alya Tsurrayya through a superior innovation entitled “IronChew: Innovative Healthy Candy for Anemia Prevention Made from Natural Ingredients of Moringa Leaves and Dragon Fruit.”

The “IronChew” innovation is here as a creative solution in efforts to prevent anemia with an interesting approach based on natural ingredients. This healthy candy utilizes moringa leaves and dragon fruit which are known to be rich in iron and antioxidants, making it a functional product that is not only healthy, but also loved by various age groups.

This achievement shows the quality, passion, and competitiveness of UMS Public Health students in contributing to global innovation in the field of public health and functional food technology.

We congratulate and express our highest appreciation to the student team for their dedication and hard work. Hopefully this achievement will inspire the entire academic community and encourage the birth of new innovations from the young generation of Indonesia.
