SURAKARTA – The Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), officially announced the winners of The Fifth Competition of Public Health Education for Senior High School 2026. Carrying the theme “Transforming Today’s Youth Health: Physical, Mental, Social, and Digital Well-being,” the national competition served as a platform for senior high school students across Indonesia to showcase their creativity, innovation, and ideas in addressing contemporary public health issues.
The competition featured three categories: Poster Competition, Short Movie Competition, and Essay Competition. Participants’ works were evaluated based on originality, relevance to the theme, creativity, quality of message delivery, and potential impact on promoting health awareness among adolescents.
In the Poster Competition, Nathifa Sekar Nagari from SMAN 1 Pemalang won the first prize, while Tabitha Vedonia from SMK Batik 1 Surakarta secured the second prize.
In the Short Movie Competition, Suleha from SMAN Loa Janan, East Kalimantan was awarded first place, followed by Fedya Jelila Indy from SMAIT Nurul Fikri Depok as the second-place winner.
Meanwhile, the Essay Competition was won by Putri Inayah Fanti from SMAN 2 Makassar with her innovative work entitled SMART-Fe (System Monitoring and Reminder Tablet Fe), which proposes an integrated monitoring and reminder application to prevent iron deficiency anemia among adolescent girls. The second prize was awarded to the team of Hafshah N., Fenita N., and Recha A. from SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri IBS Malang for their project FROSTEVIA, an innovative herbal papercandy developed as a functional food alternative.
The Head of the Public Health Study Program expressed appreciation to all participants for their enthusiasm and outstanding contributions. The high level of participation reflects the growing awareness and concern of Indonesian youth toward current public health challenges, particularly those affecting adolescents.
Through The Fifth Competition of Public Health Education for Senior High School 2026, the Public Health Study Program at UMS aims to continue encouraging young people to develop innovative ideas and become future leaders in promoting public health. The competition also represents the program’s commitment to expanding health education while introducing the field of public health to high school students nationwide.
