Competitive and Comprehensive, UMS K3 Emergency Response Practical Exam Emphasizes the Readiness of Future K3 Personnel

Surakarta, June 20, 2025 – The Public Health Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) has reaffirmed its commitment to producing professional and resilient workers in the field of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) through the implementation of the Emergency Response Practical Exam. This activity is part of the Emergency Response Practical course of the K3 interest which will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Taking place intensively and competitively, this practical exam is designed to test both technical skills and students’ mastery of theory. Not only conducting field practice related to emergency response simulations, exam participants also face a series of theory-based exams such as essay questions, multiple choice questions, and assignments to draw building plans in accordance with occupational safety principles.

The Head of the K3 interest said that this exam aims to hone students’ readiness as prospective professional K3 personnel who are able to respond to emergency situations quickly and accurately. “We want to ensure that graduates of the UMS K3 major are not only capable in theory, but also ready to face real conditions in the field,” he said.

Through this comprehensive exam, students are required to demonstrate the integration of knowledge, technical skills, and accuracy in developing evacuation strategies and understanding safe building structures. This is in line with the needs of the industry which increasingly demands adaptive and competent K3 workers.

The Emergency Response Practicum is one of the real forms of the experiential learning approach implemented by the UMS Public Health Study Program to equip students with relevant and applicable skills.
