Surakarta, March 22, 2025 — In order to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan, the Public Health Study Program (Kesmas) of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) once again presents educational content that is relevant and useful for the wider community. Through its official Instagram account, an educational video titled “The Dangers of Eating Fried Foods Immediately When Breaking the Fast” was released on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
This video is the result of a creative collaboration between the UMS Public Health Study Program and Afnan Zain, one of the Public Health Promotion Ambassadors, who actively voices health issues among the younger generation. In a short but informative duration, this video highlights the importance of maintaining a healthy diet when breaking the fast — especially by avoiding consuming fried foods directly, which can disrupt the digestive tract and increase levels of bad fats in the body.
“This education was born from concerns about the habit of people who often immediately consume fried foods when the Maghrib call to prayer sounds, without considering the impact on long-term health,” said Afnan Zain.
Through an attractive visual approach and easy-to-understand language, this content is expected to encourage the public, especially young people, to be wiser in choosing food when breaking the fast.
This video has received a positive response from netizens and is part of a series of digital campaigns “Healthy in the Holy Month” initiated by the UMS Public Health Study Program throughout Ramadan 2025.
