Career Booster #6: “Public Health Experts Working in Companies, Why Not?”

Surakarta, January 18, 2025 – The Public Health Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) once again held Career Booster #6 with the theme “Public Health Experts Working in Companies, Why Not?”. This event presented Ika Meylan Christina Harahap, S.K.M., M.KKK., an alumna of the UMS Public Health Study Program who currently works as an Auditor at PT. Mutuagung Lestari Tbk., as the main speaker.

Career Booster is a forum for sharing knowledge and experience in the world of work specifically designed for Public Health students. Through this event, students gain realistic insight into job prospects after graduation. This activity was attended by students from various batches, from early semesters to final year students who are preparing to enter the world of work.

In the presentation and discussion session, Ika Meylan Christina Harahap shared her experiences regarding her career journey, the challenges faced, and the opportunities that can be utilized by Public Health graduates in the corporate sector. With a scientific background in public health, graduates are not only limited to jobs in the government sector or community-based public health, but also have great opportunities in the industrial and corporate world.

This activity is expected to open students’ insights that Public Health graduates have broad and diverse career opportunities. With a deeper understanding of the world of work, students can be better prepared in designing their future career journey.

Career Booster #6 successfully provided inspiration and motivation for participants to be more open to various career choices, as well as increasing their readiness in facing the challenges of the world of work.
