UMS Public Health Students Win Gold Medal at IPITEX 2026 in Bangkok

SURAKARTA – Students in the Public Health (Kesmas) Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved international success. Salsabila Khoirun Nisa, a UMS Public Health student, and her interdisciplinary team won a Gold Medal at the Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEX) 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from January 5–9, 2026.

In this international innovation competition, Salsabila was part of a UMS student team consisting of Dizzo Violeta (UMS Informatics Engineering), Arief Surya Adhi (UMS Accounting), Aswa Arsa Kumala (UMS Medicine), and Salsabila Khoirun Nisa (UMS Public Health). The team successfully presented an innovation deemed superior by the panel of judges and competed with various innovative works from international participants.

The participation of UMS Public Health students in IPITEX 2026 demonstrates that public health students play a role not only in academics and community service, but also actively contribute to the development of innovations with broad impact.

This achievement also demonstrates the UMS Public Health Study Program’s commitment to encouraging its students to collaborate across disciplines and participate in international competitions to produce innovative work that benefits society.

The success of winning a Gold Medal at IPITEX 2026 is expected to motivate other UMS Public Health students to continue working, innovating, and bringing the institution’s reputation to the global level.
