UMS Public Health Study Program Celebrates 67th Anniversary: Commitment to Education, Research, and Social Contribution

Surakarta, October 24, 2025 — In commemoration of the 67th anniversary of UMS, the Public Health Study Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences expressed its pride in the institution’s continued development into a leading university based on Islamic values. The 67th anniversary commemoration was held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the KH. Ahmad Dahlan Edutorium Building at UMS, attended by prominent figures from the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah, as well as high-ranking education officials and education supervisory institutions in Region VI.

In his remarks, the leader of the organization commended UMS’s extraordinary progress in various aspects—academics, research, community service, and governance—which he said was born from collective work based on sincerity and a spirit of da’wah (Islamic outreach).

The UMS Rector, in his annual report, outlined the university’s strategic achievements in its 67th year under the title “Sustainable Progressive Transformation Provides Direction for Change.” Through nine instruments, 19 targets, and 63 key performance indicators (KPIs), UMS is committed to strengthening academic quality, human resources, the implementation of Progressive Islamic values, and digital transformation.

In detail, UMS currently has 34,817 active students from 38 provinces across Indonesia. In the past year, the university recorded 95 international academic achievements, 60 international non-academic achievements, and 381 national achievements. These achievements reflect UMS’s consistency in encouraging students and faculty to work and excel at the national and global levels.

Furthermore, UMS continues to expand its social impact through humanitarian work and internationalization: the International Partnership Community Service Program (KKN) in Malaysia and Thailand, the establishment of the Indonesian Language Study Program at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, and mentoring 1,593 Muhammadiyah Business Organizations (AUM) throughout Indonesia.

For the Public Health Study Program, this commemoration serves as a moment for reflection and revitalization: strengthening the quality of education, expanding research and community service, and affirming real contributions to society. This commitment is in line with the spirit of Progressive Islam which is the identity of UMS.
