Surakarta, September 20, 2025 — Students from the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) have once again achieved a proud achievement. Salsabila Khoirun Nisa from the Public Health Study Program, along with two colleagues from across study programs—Arief Surya (UMS Accounting) and Dizzo Violeta (UMS Informatics Engineering)—successfully won the Gold Medal at the 7th World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2025.

The UMS team successfully entered the international innovation competition with a project titled “Nutri-Flour W2W: Sustainable Nutritional Supplement Transforming Food Waste into an Innovative Solution for Childhood Stunting Prevention.” This innovation offers a sustainable approach to processing food waste into a nutritional supplement to prevent stunting in children.

This success not only strengthens the role of UMS students in research and innovation but also elevates the university’s reputation globally. This achievement also serves as proof that interdisciplinary collaboration can produce innovative solutions to pressing public health issues.

UMS extends its highest appreciation to all team members for their dedication, creativity, and hard work, which have earned them the highest award at this international event.
