Surakarta, November 2024 – The Public Health Study Program (KesMas) of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) is proud to announce the successful implementation of the Students Exchange program at Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Khon Kaen, Thailand, which took place on 3-8 November 2024.
Lecturer of the UMS Public Health Study Program, Mrs. Yeni Indriyani, S.KM., M.P.H together with Mrs. Sheena Ramadhia A D, S.KM., M.KKK accompanied students Mahatma Dewi, Mike Septiana, Khalisa Masra Desandriana Hafid, Deby Agatha Risky Pinastika, and Fidella Khair Faiza of the Public Health Study Program in this Students Exchange activity.
One of the program participants, Mahatma, said, “This experience is very valuable for me. I learned a lot about primary health services in Thailand. I also learned about the preventive approach to the community that is directly provided by students and health cadres there, especially in rural areas. Through field visits, I also understand how efforts are implemented to improve the quality of public health in Thailand from children to the elderly.” Mahatma explained, Friday (11/15/2024)
“In addition, I also made new friends and broadened my cultural insights. I felt firsthand the very interesting cultural differences, from customs to typical foods there. All of these experiences provide many valuable lessons.” Mahatma explained, Friday (11/15/2024)
With the successful implementation of this student exchange program, the UMS Public Health Study Program is committed to continuing to develop international partnerships and providing more opportunities for students to learn to collaborate on global health issues.
