Environmental Health is one of the specializations owned by the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. One of the practicum courses taken by environmental health specialization is waste management. Waste management is a practicum subject where students learn how to manage waste and use waste in everyday life.

Several visits have been made by students specializing in environmental health including Surakarta PDAM, Sewon WWTP and Sukunan Tourism Village (Environmentally Friendly). The visit was carried out with the aim that students would know the process of managing raw water into usable water, learn about the process of treating waste in various ways and reuse feces into fertilizer, and learn about the process of processing household waste into useful goods.

In addition, students also learn how to use used bottles as a medium for making hydroponics and making biopores to prevent flooding
