UMS Public Health Study Program Conducts International KKN and Community Service in South Korea

Surakarta, August 2024 – The Public Health Study Program (KesMas) of the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) successfully held an International Community Service Program (KKN) and Community Service in Seoul, South Korea. This program took place from July 30 to August 31, 2024, focused on providing physical and mental health assistance for Indonesian migrant workers in Seoul.

The International KKN and Community Service was chaired by Mrs. Mitoriana Porusia, SKM., M.Sc. (Public Health) accompanied by Mr. Arif Pristianto, S.Fis., M.Fis. (Physiotherapy), and involved students Khansa Nuriashinta Nabila (Public Health), Della Nindhi Hariadhi (Public Health), Muhammadi Nizar Shiddiq (Physiotherapy), Muhammad Akhyar (Physiotherapy), and Samiyem (Physiotherapy).

Mrs. Mitoriana Porusia, SKM., M.Sc expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm and active participation of students in this program.

“This International KKN Program not only provides valuable experience for public health students, but also becomes a forum to contribute to the Indonesian community who are workers abroad. We hope that this activity can open up opportunities or other activities that are beneficial for Indonesian migrant workers in South Korea, especially in the health sector,” explained Mrs. Mitoriana, Monday (2/9/2024).

This program is carried out to help prevent and treat Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorder (WMD) which is often experienced by migrant workers. This initiative not only strengthens international relations, but also supports the health and welfare of the Indonesian migrant worker community abroad.
