Surakarta, 2026 — The welcoming atmosphere of Fakultaria FIK UMS 2026, an event organized to welcome new students of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK), Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), for the 2026/2027 academic year, became even more vibrant with a special performance by Art Fusion, an arts-based Study Club of the Public Health Study Program (Kesmas) UMS.
Held in front of the Griya Mahasiswa UMS, Campus 1, the event featured Art Fusion in a special choir performance involving a collaboration between students and lecturers of the Public Health Study Program, UMS. The harmonious performance reflected the strong sense of togetherness within the Public Health Study Program while providing a warm and memorable welcome for the new students as they began their university journey.
Art Fusion presented three songs, each carrying its own character and atmosphere. The performance opened with “Padhang Bulan,” bringing a cheerful atmosphere enriched by the cultural nuances of Indonesia. The harmony between students and lecturers continued with “Crayon Shinchan,” a familiar song closely associated with childhood memories for many generations. The choice of this song created a more relaxed, cheerful, and relatable atmosphere among the new students.
The excitement grew as Art Fusion performed “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” a song widely recognized through the animated film The Lion King. Beyond its lively rhythm, the song carried a meaningful message for the new students: to remain enthusiastic and resilient when facing challenges and academic pressures throughout their university journey. At the same time, the performance reminded them that perseverance should be balanced with self-awareness—to take a break when they feel tired so they can continue their journey with renewed energy.
The enthusiasm of the new students and the organizing committee was evident throughout the performance. Cheers and excitement echoed from the audience as they recognized the songs being performed, with some even joining in and singing along. The spontaneous response created a lively interaction between the performers and audience, making the performance a warm and memorable part of the Fakultaria FIK UMS 2026 welcoming agenda.
The collaboration between students and lecturers also conveyed a meaningful message. Art Fusion serves not only as a platform for Public Health students to express their creativity and passion for the arts, but also as a space that brings students and lecturers together in a more creative, informal, and enjoyable atmosphere.
Through the harmony created on stage, Art Fusion delivered more than just an artistic performance. It became a reflection of the spirit of togetherness within the Public Health Study Program, UMS, while offering a warm welcome to the newest generation of FIK UMS students.
