Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held the launching of PMB (New Student Admission) by inviting high school students as well as high school teachers from various regions using the blended system in the Seminar Room of Siti Walidah Main Building, 7th Floor and Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (1/12/21) .
UMS had a soft launch before launching the official PMB, for three days as stated by the Chairman of PMB, Dr. Triyono, M.Sc. “In the three-day soft launch, the number of registered students reached 474 prospective students and 161 students chose the medical faculty,” he said.
To launch this PMB, UMS also gave awards to the first 2 enrolled students, namely Ghina Raudhatul Jannah as a student of the Faculty of Law, and Putri Kinasih Sulistiani as a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
During the greeting with the Chancellor of UMS, Ghina expressed her pride for being the first student to be accepted at UMS, besides that she expressed her desire regarding the learning system, “I want it offline, sir,” said the student from Central Kalimantan.
In addition, UMS also gave prizes to 10 schools that had sent many students to study at UMS.
In contrast to the PMB in 2021, this time, according to Triyono, UMS will use a reservation system for the implementation of the CBT (Computer Base Test) exam so that prospective students can determine for themselves when to take the CBT Test and what number of computers will be used.
This breakthrough is a manifestation, UMS appears different from other universities as stated by the Chancellor of UMS in a separate interview. According to the Chancellor, the UMS One Day Service system is very superior, so that it gets potential students. The result from year to year UMS always achieves. “The results of 10 years of ODS, the results are extraordinary, not only achieving convenience but producing quality graduates,” said Sofyan.
