The Faculty of Health Sciences UMS held an MOU with two agencies at once in one day. The first MOU with ARCCIM UTS Sydney with the hope of always being able to participate in various kinds of research, which is managed by the Center for the Study of Integrative Medicine (ARCCIM) UTS.
Because in Indonesia, especially FIK UMS, the potential is quite large to conduct integrative medicine research. Second MOU with Journal AIMED (Advances in Integrative Medicine) Elsevier. This MOU was signed by the Dean of FIK, Dr. Mutalazimah, SKM., M.Kes and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jon Wardle from University Technology Sydney as senior lecturer, Public Health Core member, Australian Research Center in Complementary and Integrative Medicine (ARCCIM).
The Australian Research Center in Complementary and Integrative Medicine (ARCCIM) is a research study center on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) covering a wide range of health care practices and therapies not currently linked to the medical profession or medical curriculum such as acupuncture, naturopathy, herbal medicine , chiropractic, and massage under the Sydney University of Technology.
Elsevier’s AIMED (Advances in Integrative Medicine) Journal is a multi-disciplinary, evidence-based international research and peer review journal in the field of Integrative and Complementary Medicine. The journal focuses on rigorous quantitative and qualitative research including systematic reviews, clinical trials and surveys, while also welcoming medical hypotheses and clinically relevant articles and case studies revealing practical learning tools for consulting practitioners. By promoting research and practice excellence in the field, and cross collaboration between relevant practitioner groups and associations, this journal aims to advance IM practice, identify areas for future research, and improve patient health outcomes. According to Mrs. Dr. Mutalazimah, SKM., M.Kes Elsevier is well known and the journals under its auspices have a prestigious value and are difficult to penetrate. Therefore, with this MOU, as a form of cooperation to realize the ideals of FIK lecturers to be able to publish journals at AIMED Elsevier.
