The Solo Population Control and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) held the 5th Generation Planning (Genre) Ambassador Election for Solo City 2018 at Solo Grand Mall (SGM), Saturday (5/5/2018) night. As many as 40 young people competed for the championship seats. They will be role models for the younger generation to become a generation that is healthy, smart, cheerful, and planning.

One of the 40 participants was a student of the Public Health Study Program FIK-UMS named M Raja Pangestu. Raja, who is greeted every day by his friends, told me about when he first participated in the Generation Planning Ambassador (GenRe) competition, I received an offer from one of the Solo Mengajar volunteers to dare to take part in the 2018 Surakarta GenRe Ambassador Election held by the Surakarta City DPPKB. With very minimal preparation, namely D-2 before the written test in the election, I decided to take part in the election. The competition was held for five days and on May 5 became the culmination of the activities of the competition. With the blessing of Allah SWT, I won 1st place in the event with the title as the Ambassador of the Male GenRe for the Surakarta City Community Line 2018. I was also entrusted with the mission of GenRe-Generating the City of Surakarta, which is to create a Healthy, Smart and Cheerful Generation for the sake of creating anti-marriage youth. early childhood, anti-sexual relations before marriage, anti-drugs, and planning his life in the future, be it education, work, or forming a family so that they are ready to enter the community in the future.

The event committee, Bagaskara, said that Genre Ambassadors focus on the success of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) program to socialize the eight functions of the family. “For that we are looking for youths who are free from drugs [narcotics, psychotropics, and addictive substances], do not marry early, and do not have free sex,” said Bagaskara when met by Solopos.com on the sidelines of the event.

Secretary of the Dispendukcapil, Sukendar, said that Duta Genre would encourage the active role of the younger generation in population, family planning, and family development programs. He also conveyed that the number of marriages aged 15-19 years in Bengawan City was still high.
