This activity is carried out to commemorate World AIDS Day which is held every December 1. This year’s AIDS Day commemoration we collaborated with the Sukoharjo AIDS Commission (KPA) and WPA Sukoharjo Veterans University Campus. The forms of activities that we carry out include giving speeches about the importance of maintaining reproductive health to reduce the risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. We also distributed flyers and ribbons as a symbol of concern for HIV/AIDS. The target of this activity is the community, especially road users, so that they know what HIV/AIDS is, how it is transmitted, what are the dangers that can be caused and how to prevent and overcome it.

The highlight of our event was performing a drama with the theme of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The activity was carried out at the Regent’s Building of Sukoharjo Regency. In addition, we also took the VCT (Voluntary Counseling Test) / HIV test which was conducted voluntarily to find out the HIV status in the body. This test is in collaboration with PMI Sukoharjo Regency and the local Health Office. The target of this activity is all people and employees of the Sukoharjo Regency Government as an educational activity and health promotion, especially HIV/AIDS. The objectives of this activity are:

Commemorating World AIDS Day
Participate in the commemoration of World AIDS day
Providing knowledge about reproductive health and HIV/AIDS to the public through health media

The benefit of this activity is that students know the series of activities carried out to commemorate World AIDS Day. In addition, students have a sense of caring for HIV/AIDS, people living with HIV (PLWHA), and people living with PLWHA (OHIDA).
