Students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) succeeded in creating, “HYDRA UV 3 in1” which is a product of the Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program (PKM-P) which functions as a mosquito repellent product, UV protector and at the same time a skin moisturizer.
The PKM-K team consisting of Lavenya Yulita, Siska Yuniar, Anisa Nursyifa and Active Cahyaning Tyas who are students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta together with Advisory Lecturer Mitoriana Porusia, S.KM., M.Sc makes non-repellent -chemical named HYDRA UV 3in1.
HYDRA UV 3in1 Spray has been tested through a bioasssay test using Aedes spp and Culex spp mosquitoes and achieved 92% effectiveness and lasts up to 6 hours. In addition, the raw material for making it has a Certificate of Analysis so that its safety is guaranteed.
PKM-K Team Leader Lavenya Yulita HYDRA UV 3In1 hopes that her team’s products can prevent dengue fever and chikungunya caused by Aedes spp mosquitoes with substances that mosquitoes don’t like, namely citronellol and geraniol produced from extra citronella.
“With the Hydra UV 3in1 product, it can reduce the spread of Dengue Fever and Chikungunya,” said the head of PKM-K.
This product also contains Aloe Vera extract where Aloe Vera extract contains lignin compounds and amino acids besides the lignin compounds in aloe vera have the ability to absorb quickly into the skin so that it can function as a carrier for the nutrients needed by the skin.
Lavender essential oil is also added to this product, which can provide a calming aroma for users, which is sold at a price of Rp. 45,000 (100ml) in the form of a spray.
