The Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKM-PM) team from the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta was successfully funded by the Director General of Higher Education consisting of five people, Yanuar Fajrul Falah as team leader and four members, Shania Salsabilla Alamsyah, Nur Ayu Sekar Arum Sari, Ananda Arum Dwi Puspita Sari, and Zulfikar Setyo Priyambudi who were guided by a lecturer from the Public Health Study Program of UMS Izzatul Arifah, S.KM., M.PH succeeded in creating an anemia control application called ANEDOC APP at the Sangkrah Health Center as a flagship program and Support Group as a supporter. This app has been uploaded on Play Store on August 25, 2021.
ANEDOC APP is an android-based application with reminders, monitoring, and education features as an effort to overcome anemia for pregnant women. The reminder feature is used to remind pregnant women to take Blood Add Tablets (TTD). For pregnant women who have normal hemoglobin, the alarm will sound once and for pregnant women with anemia, the alarm will sound twice according to the time specified by the pregnant woman.
According to the WHO in 2019 alone, 40% of maternal deaths in developing countries are related to anemia during pregnancy. Reported from the Ministry of Health website, Indonesia itself is a country with a high prevalence of anemia in pregnant women, namely 48.9% in 2018. The prevalence of anemia in mothers Pregnancy in Indonesia varies and tends to be high in some areas. One area that has a high prevalence of anemia is our partner’s work area, namely Sangkrah Health Center, Surakarta City, Central Java. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women at the Sangkrah Health Center is quite high when compared to other health centers in Surakarta. Data shows an increase in the prevalence of anemic pregnant women from 2018 to October 2020, respectively, namely 20%, 27%, and 31%. With this application, it is very helpful in consuming blood-added tablets for pregnant women.
This application gets positive reviews from various communities, one of which is named siksuksolo. According to him, this application will be useful for pregnant women with a lot of busyness, salute to the PKM UMS students whose knowledge is useful as a blessing for others.
